We love introducing people to the unique and unfamiliar grapes of Spain! This mixer highlights two different grapes and varying terroir of the Spanish countryside.

2018 Pazo de San Mauro - Albariño, from the Rias Baixas region

  • a long time higher end by the bottle fixture on our wine list, sometimes featured by the glass or in a flight.
  • “Pronounced varietal personality, with notes of fresh fruit, citrus and floral aromas. Highly aromatic and nicely balanced, with an interesting, tasty and elegant aftertaste.”
  • “A mono-varietal wine resulting from a meticulous selection of the best grapes on the property. The vineyards extend on rolling banks of the river Miño, creating a natural amphitheater, bathed in extraordinary sunlight during the midday hours. The vines are planted on trellises so that the very best fruit grows in optimum conditions, reaching its peak quality. The vineyards enjoy an exceptional micro-climate in the most southern and sunniest area of the D.O. Rias Baixas. The grapes are exposed to long hours of sunshine allowing early ripening and complex structures, and yet retaining the maximum acidity.”
  • Pair with any seafood, or light pasta dishes.

2019 Telmo Rodriguez ‘Basa’ - 90% Verdejo, 10% Viura

  • Basa is one of the pioneering wines to show the expression of a grape variety, the ‘Verdejo’ that adapted to a continental climate gives rise to a direct, fresh and expressive wine.
  • 2019 was a dry year. Apart from a notable reduction in yields, this had a very positive impact on the sanitary state of the vineyards. The extraordinarily healthy grapes were transformed into wines of high concentration and quality.
